Engineering
Closing the back of a headphone traps a volume of air behind the driver, and that volume has opinions — it resonates, it loads the diaphragm unevenly, and it forces a bass tuning that is really a compensation. The N2 removes the argument. A machined aluminium grille with a 61% open area lets the rear wave out into the room, so the driver sees close to free air and the low end rolls off gently rather than being propped up. The consequence is honest and worth stating plainly: the N2 leaks, and it does not attenuate the room. It is a listening-room instrument, not a commuting one. Measured distortion at 94dB drops to under 0.04% across the midband, which is the lowest figure we have published for any of our drivers.

Underpowered from a laptop, as NOVA says outright. On a proper headphone stage it opens up completely.
